Howard Junior Public School

Howard Public School is located in the High Park/Roncesvalles community.

It began as a small country school in 1874. The present building was constructed in 1970 as an "open concept" school with three "houses": Anderson House, Maison Neuve and Clarke House. Each house has a common area surrounded by six individual classrooms.  The three Kindergartens and music room are in separate classrooms.

  • The school has approximately 370 students.
  • Howard Public School is a dual-track school offering an English program from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 and an Early French Immersion program from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. Each program enhances the other.
  • The school shares space with a daycare centre.

Howard has a well appointed Library Resource Centre that houses a small Instructional Technology lab. The "Howard Habits", our behaviour code, is school-wide. There are 21 teachers with part time Music specialist and Physical Education Specialist Teachers. There is an active School  Council. Extensive arts opportunities are offered for all students, Kindergarten to Grade 6. We have an incredible new playground for our students to both play and learn in throughout the day.
